color or black and white?

When i get inquires one of the few questions i always get asked is if i included black and white images in the gallery. Answer to that question is, yes BUT not all the images are delivered in black and white i choose a few and include them in your final gallery. Not all images look their best in black and white, keep that in mind… I’m a lover for color so you will see very little black and white coming from me. I don’t think i have ever done a side by side like this before… but there is always a first time and here it is.

This image was taken at my brothers house this week, we were over celebrating my nieces second birthday and i got this shot of my little looking at my niece while she made a wish before blowing out her number two candle.

i see her at four 1/2 years old, full of hope, and i take it all in because this is the year she turns five and four will no longer exist. she has matured so much over the past two months as i never expected and that made reality kick in… she’s not my baby anymore. so people enjoy your little ones while you can because it will all be gone with a single eye blink.

on another note it’s officially summer and we are getting ready to head down to the beach for a few days to soak all that sun in and enjoy life just a little more i suggest you do the same and take your camera with you and capture the real thing, real life moments, the ones we look back at and enjoy looking through.  🙂

i have been in business since 2010 and i never really took a hands on workshop, i took a lot of online mentoring workshops plus google and youtube helped out a lot and of course having friends to help you out and i took any advice anyone gave me, but i have to say that practice is what helped me get to where i am now. I’m a member of a local photography group online geez i adore those girls.. and this beautiful pregnant lady is one of those members, Allison. Allison got the amazing Jennifer Dell to come to one of our photographer meetings one night to talk about the business side of photography and it was great meeting her, she mentioned she was having a photography workshop and i didn’t think it twice i messaged her with in days and hopped on the wagon. I was very excited about meeting other photographers and having a day full of adventure and so it happen. We discussed just about everything over dinner and then headed out to shoot this beautiful momma and her littles it was great getting to see how she shot a session and getting a one on one with her, it was AMAZINGGGG. I definitely needed to go out and try something different, i even tried new lenses and i have a few on my bucket list now. If you have a chance to attend a workshop that interest you i say do it you will have a good time, learn new things and meet great people.

I had an amazing time shooting these ladies and i even tried a new editing technique a little out of my comfort zone but i feel very good about it. Taking risks is always a good thing don’t just sit there and do the same thing because you will never get anywhere. Workshop was a success and i can’t wait to attend a few more.

I’m not going to lie I’m a winter kinda lady and living in texas it last only about a few weeks because the weather is always going bonkers on us all. But once you have kiddos all that changes and i’ve learned to enjoy the hot summer days specially if you are hired to capture such magical party filled with love all around it. If you think you saw this sweet boy here on the blog before you are right i shot his newborn lifestyle session with his momma and i can’t believe he is officially one year old, time does fly so enjoy every second of it. a very special birthday for a very special boy, only very close friends and family attended his celebration, bathing suites and sunscreen was a must for his pool party.

Nate had so much fun, he loved being around so many little kids and having familiar faces all around him, he knew something special was happening and it sure was. Mom and Dad were on top of everything making sure their guest were having fun and everyone seem to be having a blast specially the birthday boy, he took a dip in the pool then took a brake for lunch with his nana and parents, then it was time for which i think is the best part of the party CAKE TIME, and yes it was delicious huge props to his aunt for making it, next up birthday gifts and by the looks his favorite one took all the attention, and finally pool time with mom and dad. These are the special moments everyone wants to keep in their photo album and i I’m so humbled Amy chose me to capture this magical moment for her family.

Amy and Patrick you are great parents and have an adorable healthy one year old congrats on your first year as parents.
